Medusa Skathos

We discover here a painting of the most famous daughter of Phorcys and Ceto: Medusa. According to mythology, her eyes have the power to petrify any mortal who crosses her gaze. She was therefore usually represented on shields, to inspire fear in the enemy.

The shape of this jar is quite particular, restituting a skateboard almost in its entirety. Indeed, the upper board is only cut on the sides to create the handles of the jar. The researchers have therefore chosen to call it Skathos.
