Thrashus 3D Kylix

The eye cups appeared around 500 BC and from a typological and stylistic point of view, this is a remarkable cup. In its inner center, we recognize the god Thrashus, son of Ares and Athena. In ancient Rome, he was for skateboarders the god of the hammer, the fast and committed skate.

This is one of the few sculptures found to date that is made from broken pieces of skateboards. This is very clearly seen on the edges, with the presence of folds of skateboard wood sometimes colored. The utility of this type of jar remains, however, still a mystery.
