Battle at the Biarritz Kylix

1400

ca. 523 B.C.

Attributed to Rom av.JC

It is difficult to identify to which people these two soldiers belonged. What is clearly visible on this kylix, however, is what the person protecting himself is wearing: a skateboard. Surprisingly, there are no trucks on this skateboard.

Historians therefore suggest that they removed the trucks for battle and only put them back on to move on to the next battle.
