Dionysos Kylix

In the heart of Cabilonum, just a stone’s throw from the Saône and Place Saint-Pierre, a recent worksite has revealed the existence of a new Kylix, without handles, measuring 110 cm in diameter.

The latter pays homage to the god of wine, celebration and vines, Dionysus. He is depicted alone, reclining on a klinè (couch), kylix in hand and observing a bunch of grapes. Unlike others, this one is very detailed. In addition to the motifs on his toga, the lower part of the painting features an apple and a vase with a gladiaskator on it.
