Pardus Rhyton

1200

ca. 24 B.C.

Attributed to Rom av.JC

Discovered in Bordeaux in 2024, this large rhyton is attributed to the artist Rom B.C., which he made around 24 B.C. Found in an exceptional state of preservation, this jar tells us a part of the city’s history: the Greek ceramic trade. The figure is depicted with a kylix and a cane, probably used to open shipments or stamp his authority.
