Vinum Servus Kylix
560€
ca. 24 B.C.
Attributed to Rom av.JC
Prior to the construction of the Saint-Christoly parking lot, a whole section of Bordeaux’s ancient past was uncovered during excavations at this ancient port. The latter yielded two unique broken skateboard kylixes.
In cross-section, each depicts a Roman waiter and waitress. One of the two jars confirms its Bordeaux origins, as it features a motif depicting the city’s coat of arms.
